We have made a deep, long term investment in advanced technologies and thoughtful design to ensure each home is truly energy efficient and environmentally responsible. Our commitment goes far beyond trend, it reflects a genuine desire to protect the natural beauty and resources of Ibiza for generations to come.
Sa Bahia embraces a holistic approach to sustainability, from the materials used to the resources conserved.Every detail — from the locally sourced materials to the intelligent use of water and energy — reflects a mindful respect for Ibiza’s fragile beauty. Beyond efficiency, sustainability here is an attitude: a quieter, more conscious way of living and building that connects comfort, design, and responsibility in perfect balance. These choices reflect a commitment to resource efficiency and conscious living, in harmony with Ibiza’s landscape and future.
Sa Bahia has been designed, developed, and built in collaboration with local talent. From artisans to engineers and landscapers. By working with professionals rooted in Ibiza, the project not only supports the island’s economy and creative community, but also ensures that the villas are thoughtfully adapted to the local climate, materials, and traditions. This approach reduces the environmental impact of transportation and fosters a deeper, more sustainable connection between the homes and their surroundings.
At Sa Bahia, sustainability is built into every layer, from green roofs that naturally regulate temperature to clay façades that balance heat and humidity for healthier living. Solar panels provide clean energy, reducing environmental impact. This thoughtful approach reflects our true commitment to preserving Ibiza’s natural beauty for generations to come.
The villas at Sa Bahia feature green roofs that serve both aesthetic and environmental purposes. These living roof systems significantly improve the thermal insulation of each home reducing heat gain by up to 90% in warmer months and minimizing heat loss during cooler seasons. By naturally regulating indoor temperatures, green roofs help lower energy consumption, create a more comfortable living environment, and contribute to the preservation of Ibiza’s delicate ecosystem.
The façades at Sa Bahia are finished with natural clay mortar, chosen for both its warm aesthetic and exceptional thermal performance. Clay helps regulate temperature and humidity by storing heat and absorbing moisture, creating a more stable, comfortable indoor environment. Breathable and sustainable, it supports healthier living while reducing the need for mechanical systems.
Solar panels have been installed on the sun deck of each home, with around seven panels per property. These systems are designed to generate up to 4.7 kW of clean, renewable energy. By offsetting approximately 0.7 to 1 kg of CO₂ per kilowatt-hour, each installation can help reduce carbon emissions by 1.5 to 2.2 tons annually depending on energy use and sunlight levels, making a meaningful contribution to a more sustainable future.
A water tank of 30,000 litters is installed in each villa to capture rainwater & grey waters that will then be used for house non-potable purposes, reducing demand on municipal water supplies
Each villa is equipped with advanced systems designed to optimize water consumption and prevent unnecessary waste. These include individual meters for both the swimming pool and irrigation system, allowing owners to monitor and control usage with precision. This commitment to water efficiency not only supports environmental sustainability, but also helps reduce utility costs and promotes responsible living in harmony with Ibiza’s natural resources.
A large percentage of the materials used in the construction of these homes are sustainably sourced and meticulously assembled. All certifications are available to clients, reflecting a transparent and a clear commitment to sustainability, quality and lasting excellence.
